The particularity of the terroir of their vineyards makes the production of Viña Tabalí appreciated by people who appreciate wines of character. They are the pioneers and the greatest innovators in the development of viticulture in the Limarí Valley. Guillermo Luksic was the first businessman to build a modern wine cellar in the Limarí Valley. In the early 90s he bought the Tabalí field on the banks of the Valle del Encanto, where he planted his first vines in 1993. It was not until 2002 that the first Tabalí brand wines were launched, which were soon to be recognized for their quality in national and international markets. In 2009, after years of geological studies and experimentation, in a constant search for innovation and excellence in the quality of its wines, the winery acquired the Talinay vineyard. This vineyard is located at the foot of the Fray Jorge National Park and is part of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Only 12 km separates it from the coast, being the most coastal vineyard of the valley and the one that would surprise all Chile with awards for the best Pinot Noir and the best Chardonnay of the country in its first harvest. In order to find new terroirs in the valley, part of the old Hacienda El Bosque was purchased in 2010, located in the Rio Hurtado mountain range. In this place, a vineyard is planted at an altitude of 1600 meters, something completely new, making Tabalí the only vineyard that has vineyards from the sea to the mountain range, in the same valley. Finally, in 2013 and under the presidency of Nicolás, Tabalí acquired one of the most exclusive and highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in the Maipo Valley, with the unique character of being located in the Costa Cordillera, with slopes of colluvial soil and with southern exposure. This vineyard promises new opportunities for the winery, which finally decides to broaden its portfolio and to discover other valleys.
