The AOC Cadillac was born in 1973 in the heart of the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux where only a few plots of vines, the most adapted for a homogeneous and healthy botrytization, are dedicated to sweet wines. It extends over 22 communes on the right bank of the Garonne, south of Bordeaux, on a narrow strip of land: 60 km long and 5 km wide. Château Peybrun is located on the hillsides between Sainte Croix du Mont and Loupiac and opposite Sauternes, on clay-limestone soils with well-drained slopes and a favorable microclimate allowing the development of noble rot. Particularity: the Cadillac appellation has the specificity, contrary to the other sweet wines of Bordeaux, that the wine must imperatively be bottled at the Chateau.
