Our vineyard is located within the portion of The Rocks District that qualifies as part of the Walla Walla Valley AVA. The Rocks is well known for its unique soil type – deep soils of weathered cobble stones in the ancient riverbed of the Walla Walla River. Fertile soils aid in the cultivation of healthy vines; however, the growing season is compressed and intense, with added heat radiating from the stones in the summer. Careful attention is required every vintage to bring forth the purest expression of this unique terroir. These soils produce wines with a distinct aromatic profile. Through rigorous selection and reduced yields, we expect to produce compelling wines of great intensity from this vineyard site.
