Known for his Vouvray but also for its softness, Mr. Brédif was a pioneer in the world of winemakers, creating sparkling Vouvray at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1980, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took up the torch as a true wine lover. Enthusiastic about quality and tradition, he gave a new impetus to this several hundred year old house... Its troglodyte cellars, dug into the tuffeau from the 10th century onwards, are among the most beautiful and vast of the appellation. They contain very rare wines, whose vintages go back to 1874. Depending on the clay-limestone, siliceous or sandier terroirs, the exposure and the age of the vines, Maison Brédif vinifies three types of wines: the classic Vouvray, the Nectar Marc Brédif harvested late in certain exceptional vintages, as well as the Vigne Blanche, a wine made from the vines of the same name and the exclusive property of the house: this monopoly produces a great dry white wine. Maison Brédif also produces red and rosé wines in Chinon, including the prestigious cuvée, the Chinon Réserve Privée and the Chinon Blanc.
